PARENTS & STUDENTS' TESTIMONIALS

Testimonials: Testimonials

Mr. Steve Tan has all the qualities that every parents could possibly ask for in a tutor. He has the ability to explain difficult concepts in a manner that is clear and simple for young children to fully grasp and apply. What is even more amazing is he makes his classes utterly fun and interesting. My son looked forward to his classes every single time. I did not need to nag him to complete any assignments as Mr. Tan was able to spur his interest and inspire him to do his best.

Needless to say, Mr. Tan’s familiarity with the PSLE curriculum and marking system is a tremendous bonus in coaching the students to meet the PSLE requirements. On top of that, I see in Mr. Tan, and his wife, a true genuine love and care for the students. They never hesitate in going the extra mile to help their students to excel. Although conducted in a small group setting, Mr. Tan always painstakingly customises his worksheets and lesson plans according to the students’ strengths and weaknesses. They are always communicative and work closely with parents, spending huge amounts of time updating parents of their children’s progress. They constantly shower the students with encouragement and love, which are really critical in helping them cope with the stress of exam preparation.

My son is truly blessed to have Mr. Tan as his tutor. Beyond helping him perform excellently in his PSLE, he has left a lasting legacy of setting ablaze my son’s interest and love for the subjects.

I truly enjoyed Mr. Steve Tan’s classes! Not only did his lessons really helped me in understanding difficult topics much better, they were so fun and captivating. The lessons were never draggy and boring! I especially loved the science experiments which brought to life what we had been learning in theory. Mr. Tan’s great sense of humour filled every lesson with laughter even as we mastered difficult concepts and answering techniques. He also injected fun into the lessons with games and interesting illustrations.

He is always patient and would think of different strategies to help us overcome our weaknesses in certain topics. I was very much behind the other three class members as I joined the class very much later than them. But Mr. Tan went out of his way and made every effort to help me catch up with the rest. The revision notes he gave us to help us revise every topic were also very useful. He was more than merely a tutor, he was like a mentor who encouraged us to persevere to do our best and believed in our potential to perform beyond our own expectations.

As a parent, finding an educator who truly connects with your child is invaluable, and Mr Tan has exceeded all our expectations. As a science teacher, he possesses a remarkable gift for stimulating students' natural curiosity and love for learning. I have never encountered any resistance from my daughter when it comes to attending Mr Tan's lessons - quite the opposite, she genuinely looks forward to each session with enthusiasm.

What sets Mr Tan apart is his holistic approach to education. His care for students extends far beyond academic achievement, encompassing their personal development and well-being. This comprehensive focus on nurturing the whole child is something I deeply value as a parent, knowing that my daughter is not only gaining knowledge but also developing important life skills and values.

Equally impressive is Sharon (Mrs Tan), whose administrative support has been exceptional. She consistently demonstrates patience and flexibility when addressing our scheduling needs, always willing to accommodate lesson timing adjustments. Her reliability in sending timely reminders has been tremendously helpful for our family's planning, and her attention to these details never goes unnoticed.

Together, Mr Tan and Sharon create an educational environment that combines academic excellence with genuine care and professional service. I wholeheartedly recommend them to any parent seeking quality education delivered with heart.

Mr Tan goes beyond being just a tutor focused on academic results - he truly cares about our values, well-being, and how we relate to our peers. What makes him special is his diverse teaching approach that keeps every lesson exciting. He uses interactive games, reward systems, and hands-on activities that make learning feel natural and fun rather than like hard work. Having been his student since Primary 4, I've experienced firsthand how his creative methods ensure you never get bored, while his genuine care for our personal development means the benefits I've gained extend well beyond academic knowledge.

Mr Tan is a dependable teacher who helped improve my children’s grades. I had originally enrolled them into this tuition due to their unideal grades in Primary 3. In just a few months I was able to receive tangible results that have maintained to this day. I believe that his support to my twins was a vital part of the scientific aspect of their academic journey, these 7 years of teaching has allowed him to truly understand the learning methods of my children which has allowed him to address their issues quickly and effectively. It is also especially rare that tuition centres would conduct experiments, and I believe that all the experiments that my children have seen and done has allowed them to better understand concepts, allowing them to learn better. Mr Tan is a teacher that is truly able to understand his students regardless of age and truly ingrain the concepts into their minds with unique and interesting methods.

Mrs Koh

Mr Tan is a well informed and up to date teacher. He is able to effectively figure out the learning methods of his students and uses different ways to pique their interest and thus improve their results. He helped me improve my grades drastically in Primary 4 after starting my tuition in the December of my Primary 3 school year. Through interactive PowerPoint slides and interesting experiments, he grabs onto the student’s attention whilst invoking thoughtfulness within students. He makes sures that students fully understand the syllabus rather than forcefully memorising to create a stable foundation. This foundation has allowed me to excel in my Science for Primary 4 all the way up to Secondary 4 , Chemistry, never dropping below an A in secondary school and never below AL1 in Primary school. His teaching method is effective and efficient, and can be adapted to many curriculums such as IP, O levels, Combined Sciences and Primary School.

He is also able to inspire students to find their passion in the sciences and is very knowledgeable on what is fitting for his different students. He was a great help in choosing my subject combination and had in fact discouraged me to make a decision I would regret if I were to take physics like I had wanted. In Primary 4, by pulling up my then abysmal grade, he helped me find a passion in science (particularly chemistry) and maintain this passion to this day. Overall, I believed that he has contributed greatly to my journey over these past 7 years and his teachings would continue to follow me in the next few chapters of my life.

While I did have an interest in Science since learning it in school, it was Mr Tan who kept that flame of passion burning inside me for more than six years. He was able to keep the lessons interesting by going the extra mile to connect content in the syllabus to everyday life, making it more applicable and relatable. His sense of humour also made it very enjoyable to be there, and his dynamic way of teaching allowed the lessons to stay refreshing and fun.

Instead of solely teaching content through powerpoint slides and printed notes. Mr Tan would also  prepare experiments for students to try out themselves. This gives students more time to explore and apply knowledge from the topic, allowing them to remember the content much better. The notes provided are very concise and useful, including a lot of pictures and diagrams for visual learners.

Mr Tan is also very well versed in the primary as well as secondary school syllabuses, and is able to quickly identify common mistakes made by students. He also knows the best way to correct them and prevent the same mistakes from being made.

Outside of lessons, Mr Tan puts in just as much effort into caring about the wellbeing of his students. Health is always seen as a first priority, and he will make sure that students are able to keep up with the lessons. His warm-hearted and kind nature shows both when teaching and caring for students, and lessons with Mr Tan was always the highlight of my week.

Mr Tan is not only a good teacher, but also one who can in still passion for science in students by his teaching lessons in a fascinating and engaging way. He is also very encouraging and willingly goes the extra mile just to help his students outside of normal tuition time! Additionally, he is very caring and understanding as he ensures that the workload he gives is not overly stressful. By forging strong bonds with students, he can also motivate them to do well. Thanks to him, I have never gotten any lesser than A1 on tests and examinations for chemistry throughout my secondary school life

Mr Tan is an impeccable teacher who is able to transform tricky, hard-to-understand concepts into something bite-size for any student. I’d followed him from Primary Four all the way to Secondary Four, and I can safely say that I could only make it this far with his help and support. He is kind, understanding, and hilarious. In short, he’s awesome, and you will definitely enjoy Science with him! He’s truly very passionate about the stuff he teaches, which I think is the X-factor to be a good teacher. It also doesn’t hurt that his relatability and humour allow students to feel comfortable with him. He’s a 10/10!

Mr Tan is a patient, dedicated and approachable tutor. He would regularly give me feedback about my daughter’s performance and improvements. Thanks to Mr Tan, my daughter did well in PSLE.

Mrs Kok

Mr Tan is a devoted, easy-going teacher who always goes the extra mile to guide and help his students. As a student of Mr Tan during my upper primary days, I was a fairly difficult child to handle, with a lack of passion and motivation to do well in my Sciences. Yet Mr Tan would put in a tremendous amount of effort to spark my interest in Science, as well as ensure I understood every topic. His lessons mainly focused on answering techniques, teaching me how to craft my answers using keywords. I also vividly remembering looking forward to the experiments Mr Tan would prepare, it was the highlight of every lesson for me. Mr Tan honed my foundation in Science over the course of a year, and my grades greatly improved under him. Mr Tan went beyond the role of a teacher to shape my interest in Science, believing in me since the very start. :-)

"With only 6 weeks to PSLE, my daughter requested for a personal tutor. Mr Tan was recommended by a close friend.
Knowing well that there is no magic and short cuts in life, I approached Mr Tan. Glad that Mr Tan took her in, encouraged and assured her through out the 6 weeks. She managed to score an A for both Science and Maths.

Mrs Goh

Mr Tan is a very humorous person. He make me smile and laugh  and I can remember what he taught me after that. He uses different colour pens to differentiate the key points. When I got my prelim result, my Math and Science were B's, but after going to Mr Tan for 6 weeks , I got A's for both Math and Science for PSLE.

Adora Goh

Mr Tan is a tutor who is very effective in his teaching methods. He helped my daughter improve by a lot. I would like to thank you for helping my daughter to achieve an A* for her PSLE.

Mr Kelvin

Mr Tan is one of the best teachers I have ever been taught under. A patient and witty teacher, he allowed me to reach my fullest potential at math. Mr Tan helped me to realise that math can be fun and even helped me to score an A* in PSLE when I previously had only gotten a B in my SA1. Even though he is my math tutor, he always offers advice on how to improve my science as well. He is really a great teacher and someone who I respect greatly.
